Here's What We Noticed At Paris Fashion Week

Here's What We Noticed At Paris Fashion Week

This past week, we had the chance to head to Paris for Fashion Week and get an early look at what brands have lined up for their Fall/Winter 2025 collections. While each brand strives to distinguish itself with unique design philosophies, it’s not unusual to see several converge on similar trend points. Here are some of the favorites that we were able to spot across the showrooms.

CORDUROY IS EVERYWHERE.

It seems as if corduroy is slated to have a big presence come the end of this year.  From hats to jackets to pants, the options are gonna be limitless, and the fabric’s texture promises to elevate autumn’s offerings. Acne Studios took part with a pair of black bottoms featuring a faded brown wash to round up the style. Meanwhile, Our Legacy (shown in Milan) delivered a more refined take with a thicker khaki trouser with subtle distressing throughout. It’s clear: come fall, corduroy will be a key player in shaping outfits all over.

NECKTIES FOR EVERYONE.

Ties made an undeniable statement this season, appearing everywhere—often in places you wouldn’t think to look. Worn both traditionally and in refreshingly unconventional ways, they seamlessly integrated into collections, proving their versatility and timeless appeal. Junya Watanabe, drawing inspiration from the simple notion of creating clothes for himself, presented a runway filled with bearded, mature models, most of which  styled the accessory with effortless cool. Whether wrapped traditionally around the neck or reimagined as a waist tie, ties are due for a resurgence for all types of people, and they might just deserve a spot in your wardrobe this fall.

FINALLY, PANTS THAT FIT.

After several seasons dominated by oversized sweatpants and baggy jeans, it seems that brands are now shifting toward a more tailored approach to pant silhouettes. Acne Studios, long known for its diverse range of denim cuts, notably embraced a slimmer, more refined aesthetic in its Fall 2025 presentation, showcasing a notable shift toward slimmer fitting denim and trousers. Given the brand’s key role in championing the oversized jean wave over the past few years, this pivot toward more tailored fits feels like a significant indicator of what’s to come.

SO?

So, what’s the takeaway here? To me, these style choices signal a shift towards a newfound maturity that’s poised to dominate the design trends as the year closes out. After seasons marked by playful, almost whimsical aesthetics, we’re now seeing a move towards a more polished and intentional look—individuals are beginning to prioritize refinement and a sense of effortlessness, yet with purpose. But you tell me, what do you think?
Stay ROOTED,
Ed

Love this piece. I’ve noticed the same trend with corduroy.
