We are seeking an experienced barista that has experience working in the hustle and bustle of the café environment possessing skills in creating curated hot & cold beverages, building a service oriented team, incredible attention to detail, team building, training & inventory management . The ideal candidate would be able to build, maintain and execute a high level service environment that results in a deep network of loyal clients. The position will work closely with the Brand Manager, Creative Director & Retail Store Manager to discuss product strategy, event coordination and customer service strategies.
The ideal candidate will be an expert on all things coffee with the ability to manage inventory/ordering & café staff all while building strong relationships within the community. The Lead Barista will drive café business while reaching monthly revenue goals, use data to make well informed decisions and possess an expert understanding of coffee & its trends. Additionally, the Lead Barista will be charged with overseeing the client experience ensuring it's a memorable one each time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain café staff results by coaching, counseling & training employees; planning, monitoring and appraising job results
- Embody a brand culture that engages and excites our staff and our clients; create a welcoming environment to deepen overall client relationships
- Achieve financial objectives by meeting/exceeding revenue goals including proper inventory controls to increase loss prevention
- Build detailed profiles of key customers for maximum relationship building
- Encourages technical coffee knowledge through training, customer engagement & industry trends
- Maintain café aesthetic and implement daily maintenance plan to ensure proper presentation
- Work closely with cross functional partners including vendor partners, logistics, retail manager, and creative in the pursuit of shared business outcomes
- Oversee café setups for scheduled events based on logistics plans
- Assist with menu innovation, drink curation and ingredient sourcing
- Stay up to date with ROOTED Retail Store happenings & ROOTED Brand related activities such as new brands, releases, events and staffing
- Be the point person for all things related to coffee and café related including ordering, receiving, hiring, training and events
REQUIREMENTS
- One year of experience in coffee/cafe management
- Must have previous barista experience; one year+
- Teamwork oriented & self motivated
- Previous related experience in customer service, food preparation, sanitation and inventory control is preferred
